Heavy rains hit train services in Mumbai

Waterlogging in many areas has led BEST to divert bus routes and trains being stalled as tracks are under water.
With the slow corridor completely submerged and out of service, both long-distance trains and locals are being diverted to the fast corridor.
Commuters trying to reach office in the peak hour were left stranded and were finding it difficult to get back either home or to the office.
The worst waterlogging on the tracks has been reported from Thane, Kalwa and Mumbra on the Central Railway.
On the Western railway, tracks on the Nala Sopara station are under knee-deep water leading to stalling of trains.
Among the worst affected areas are Dadar, Hindmata, Sion and Bhandup.
The heavy rains in South Gujarat have led to the long-distance Western railway services also to be hit.
The Rajdhani Express is stuck at Surat station. Authorities have warned people to stay indoors and avoid the beaches and the sea front.
